"Carter Country" logo design

Th
is is a new logo I designed for Mark Carter, a decidedly bad-ass pro snowboarder from Ten Sleep, Wyoming. He's starting a brand called "Carter Country" that won't be just an extension of his snowboarding life, but also his off-season life as a worker on his 60,000 acre family ranch in Wyoming. This dude is no joke: he's a hunting guide, an avid fisherman, he herds and brands cattle, fixes fences, owns a .50 cal (among many other guns), and jumps dirt-bikes into barbed wire (yep, really happened).

When he's not doing activities that would make the Marlboro Man cry, Mark has a bit of an alternate lifestyle. He gets whisked around the world to snowboard some of the coolest spots around (and gets paid for it). He also has a tendency to go to Wimbledon and the US Open with Justin Timberlake, and has been known to knock back a few ciders with Guy Richie.

So with friends like Travis Rice and JT, and sponsors like The North Face and Smith Optics, Mark has a pretty great network to help get a brand started. I can't really give too many details at this point, but there will definitely be a clothing line and quite possibly a reality show. I'll likely be providing more art and designs as the brand takes off and will post them as they come.

See below for my initial sketch for the family crest graphic. We didn't really have to change very much for the final.
