
This is a graphic I designed for the Dallas, Texas store Nest, which is "a modern, yet classic destination for gift seekers and home furnishers alike." They asked me to create this illustration to be used as part of their logo application on some of their merchandise, hangtags, etc. They specified a graphic with a classic feel but with "a touch of whimsical naughtiness". What we came up with is a seemingly benign, ornate design, that reveals some playful mischief on closer inspection. One gluttonous cherub is eating ice-cream atop a giant gift, while another just shot a towel off of a blushing bather with his arrows.
The lock graphic in the center is currently being used alone for the main logo on their website. I'll post images of how the full image is being applied as soon as I get them. See below for a few rounds of sketches:
