Since it has now been over 2 months since my last post, I figure an update is in order! Well.. in the past 2 months, my wife and I uprooted our lives in Brooklyn and moved out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The reasons for this move are too numerous and complicated to go into on my blog, but it is a very very positive and wonderful move for us.
We couldn't be happier with our new house and our new town. It probably helps that I lived here for about 6 years before I moved out to New York. Actually.. it definitely helps! I have a built-in network of friends here, as well as my dad, sister, and nephew all within a few blocks of us. And the culture-shock element isn't even really a factor since my wife and I have been coming out here in the summer time for the past 9 years (and a couple times in the winter). But of course, New York will be sorely missed, and we'll be looking for every opportunity to go back and visit often.
As for my illustration career, it will not be affected in any negative way by this move. My clients are spread out all over the U.S. and Europe at this point, so being located in New York City is no longer a necessity for me. As long as I have a scanner and an internet connection, I could do my work from Antarctica. Or Fiji. Yeah.. I guess Fiji is a bit warmer. So now that the craziness of the move-out / move-in is mostly over, I can get back to focusing on new work, new promotions, and more regular updates!
More soon..
